History of Third Coast Martial Arts

Third Coast Martial Arts started out as a small family run school on March 15th, 1996. At that time we trained students in a small space in the back of a Jack Brown Cleaners at the corner of Northland Drive and Parkcrest in Austin. We didn't realize at the time how popular Third Coast Martial Arts would become.

By 1999, we had so many students that we outgrew the old space behind the Jack Brown Cleaners. On January 1, 2000 Third Coast Martial Arts moved into its very own facility built in cooperation with Don and Connie Busby in their new gym, Busby's Total Fitness.

The growing Third Coast Martial Arts community again required us to upgrade our facilities. On December 1, 2005 Third Coast Martial Arts moved into a location at 8108 Mesa Drive in Austin and opened it's 2nd location Third Coast East at 8127 Mesa Drive in April 2011. In January 2017 we moved all operations into one location at the Mesa Woods location. It is our largest and most modern facility so far.

As the Third Coast Martial Arts community continues to grow, we remain a family run school providing personal caring attention to all of our students. We are focused on the needs of our students and are already looking ahead at plans for an even larger and grander Third Coast Martial Arts facility.
